Woman Photographs an Entity in Her Grandfather’s House?
A woman by the name of Samantha claims she photographed a mysterious entity lurking in her now deceased grandfather’s house. One day, she decided to take some pictures around the old house. However, she says the house always gave her the creeps, so she invited a friend to accompany her. Since the electricity didn’t work in the house, the two brought an oil lantern with them as they ventured through the house, snapping up “a lot of odd pictures and pictures that had, what appeared to us, faces in them.”. The duo made it upstairs and Samantha suggested they go into the attic. Suddenly, the lantern’s flame went out. There wasn’t a draft, and neither of them blew it out. Samantha quickly took a picture, which shows an entity with a sinister grin on it’s face peeking through a hole in the wall of a room above the stairs. The two left immediately afterwards. Samantha says she later edited the brightness of the photo to better highlight the entity.
Though the picture is creepy, it’s possible that it might be a hoax. It’s a bit odd that this woman suddenly wanted to go take pictures around her grandfather’s house. Even though she said the house always gave her the creeps, she never explicitly said why that was. We don’t know if it’s because she felt some kind of presence was in the house, or if it was simply because it was an old, rickety house. One thing I find a bit odd about the story she tells is the fact that her and her friend brought an oil lamp instead of a flashlight. In this day and age, it’s rare hear of someone opting to use an oil lamp over a flashlight. However, despite all that, the could still be real. It’s possible that it was haunted even when her grandfather was alive, which might explain the creepy feeling it gave Samantha. Personally, I believe the photo is fake. While reading the story behind this photo, it honestly felt as though I was reading a campfire ghost story. But, that’s just my opinion, and this photo did teach us that it’s never a good idea to walk around an old, dark house with a friend while taking pictures (that is, unless you want someone to make a horror movie based off of events you personally experienced).
